In 1998, Octalouie principal Jesse Block directed the first 14 episodes of Marcia Kimpton's Live From the Starlight Room televsion show. Produced under the auspices of KGO-TV, a ABC affilliate based in San Francisco, this syndicated variety show was aired in 20 other American markets. Notable for some of the earliest television appearances of Train, The Donnas, Noele Hampton, and Storm and Her Dirty Mouth, among others, this groundsbreaking series provided a unique mix of comedy, information, and musical entertainment.
